Born in Longsight, Manchester, the youngest of five children. Moving from Manchester James grew up in Bolton. This was to be the scene of many childhood terrors for James and his family. The intoxicated rages of his father extended to systematic cruelty as he deliberately physically abused and tortured the people he claimed to have loved.

James Byrne endured many years of cruelty and suffering, but when his father passed on he returned in spirit to seek the forgiveness of his teenage son. While standing at a bus stop, an old lady came to James and said “Your father was an Irishman, he was a big Irishman with a very big drink problem”. James replied “obviously you must know him”. “No” she said “but he is standing beside you right now and in his hand is an empty pint glass.

He wants to tell you he is very sorry for what he did”. James questioned the old lady “you must know him”. “No” she replied the next comment she made was going to change James’s life forever. “I’ll tell you James, I know you have the same gift that I have and one day that gift will be extremely powerful, and that you will go a long way in this world, because you James Byrne, are destined to go right to the very top”.

From that day forth, James began to recognise and develop his psychic powers, eventually becoming one of the youngest ever demonstrators within the Spiritualist Church.

While battling against ignorance and prejudice, James used his powers to cure the sick, comfort the dying and helps those who feel haunted, grieving or unable to cope with life.

His growing reputation and his history making psychic experiment, which he has performed many times on Television and Radio all over the country, has led him to international recognition, culminating in the fulfilment of a life long dream – his first ever booking at the London Palladium.

In 1993 James celebrated the launch of his book “The Psychic World of James Byrne” a collaboration of stories and memories witnessed by James Byrne. The book was sold in four different countries around the world.

Now, not looking back, James Byrne commands capacity audiences wherever he goes and puts more SOLD OUT signs than any other Psychic Medium has ever done.

James has recently taken a short break in his theatre work due to the expansion of his family but now returns with his brand new show “An Audience with” James Byrne.
