Yes, beyond doubt – FRANK SIDEBOTTOM is Show Biz’s most FANTASTIC STAR… and when we say “Show Biz” FRANK can’t be surpassed in his world of light entertainment including – Television; Radio; Concerts; Lectures; Records; Comic Strip Art; and Puppetry!
Star of his own series “FRANK’S FANTASTIC SHED SHOW” for ITV… FRANK also appeared as ANTHONY WILSON’S sidekick on C 4’s“REMOTE CONTROL” which ran for 33 episodes.
FRANK’S other great TV achievements also include 8 years on Saturday morning telly, covering; WHAT’S UP DOC; 73; SATURDAY PICTURE SHOW; MOTORMOUTH and a recent DICK n’ DOM IN DA BUNGALOW! The complete list of FRANK’S television work is too numerous to mention as FRANK has graced over 300 separate shows!
FRANK was also the pioneering force behind a change in radio broadcasting style making over 360 “RADIO TIMPERLEY” broadcasts. Originally broadcast on Manchester’s PICCADILLY RADIO the show included understudies, among others, CHRIS EVANS; MARK RADCLIFFE and CAROLINE AHEARN (who played MRS MERTON – FRANK’S next door neighbour!).
Musically FRANK has his own inimitable style and has managed to crack the TOP 100 a number of times with classic banjo ballads such as –“MULL OF TIMPERLEY”; “ANARCHY IN TIMPERLEY” and “TIMPERLEY SUNSET”…. Needless to say that FRANK is “born and bred” TIMPERLEY!
FRANK’S live performances are legendary and have achieved cult status, be it a crowd of 14,000 when headlining the comedy slate at the READING MUSIC FESTIVAL, supporting “BROS” at WEMBLEY STADIUM in front of 54,000 or, simply doing a “TIMPERLEY LECTURE” in front of 300, each and every performance is different!
FRANK is also much loved in the world of football having appeared o “MATCH OF THE DAY” (providing the inspiration for the haunting ballad “GUESS WHO’S BEEN ON THE MATCH OF THE DAY?”) FRANK has also been seen providing corporate pre-match entertainment at places like “Old Trafford” and The Reebok Stadium”.
